What is OSE-SHINE ?
Ose Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the sea deities of Suruga Bay.
The Ose Shrine, a symbol of faith for Suruga Bay fishermen, is known as the guardian deity of the sea.
It is said that when building a new ship, it is customary to visit this shrine and pray for the safety at sea.
Since ancient times, the Ose Shrine has been a symbol of faith for Suruga Bay fishermen, gathering reverence as a guardian deity of the sea. Additionally, there is a tradition where people praying for maritime safety offer red loincloths as votive offerings.

What is “OSE-SHRINE COURSE”?
The departure point is Tagonoura Fishing Port in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the port closest to Mount Fuji in the world.
After about 25 minutes of boarding, you will arrive at Ose Shrine.

Shrine grounds
Ose Shrine and Hikite Chikara no Mikoto Shrine are symbols of faith for Suruga Bay fishermen and are known as guardian deities of the sea.
Ose Shrine has been selected as one of the ‘100 Selections of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Fisheries and Fishing Villages to be Preserved for the Future’ by the Fisheries Agency.
Divine pond (Kami-ike)
The divine pond located at the tip of Osezaki is considered one of the Seven Wonders of Izu, with a longest diameter of approximately 100 meters.
At the closest point to the sea, the distance is about 15 meters, with an elevation of only 1 to 2 meters. Despite being exposed to seawater on stormy days, this mysterious pond is a freshwater pool inhabited by various freshwater fish such as carp, crucian carp, and catfish.
